Our 1st wedding anniversary was so…interesting, it must be packed into parts. I don’t think you can handle it all at once. I barely could.
First things, first. If you haven’t heard via Twitter, Facebook, email or me screaming through the phone, an offer was finally accepted on a house we love! We found out as we were heading out the door on Friday afternoon, which couldn’t have started off our weekend any better. 🙂
After jumping around the living room for…awhile, we took our 1st time homebuyer selves and hit the road for Minnesota. Because there’s no better place to spend your 1st anniversary getting in touch with each other and nature (hey, we’re buying a house!).
And, although we forgot food bowls for the pup, paper plates and ketchup, we forged on. Starting with assembling our $30 Target tent and hoping all three of us would fit.
Next, we started a fire. Dillon didn’t tell me there wouldn’t be an outlet for my George Forman. 😉
Someone didn’t get the Fire-Starting badge in the Boy Scouts.
Once we had a flicker, we whipped up some cheese-topped veggie burgers. Are we yuppies, or what?
Followed by some of these:
Which we made into these:
And, the trip wouldn’t have been complete without a couple of these:
I could have used a gallon of this:
As the sun began to set on our first night out in Blue Mounds State Park, we played the longest game of War anyone has ever had the patience for. Then, because we’re afraid of raccoons and only had one miniature flashlight powered by manually shaking it, we folded ourselves into the tent.
Then it began to rain…
Part II coming soon…
